Philip K. dick’s criticisms about the film adaption ‘Blade runner’ have been justified by differences that have been shown. The theme of sympathy throughout the two texts has been shown through two different character types causing the result to change.

Rick Deckard has got the hero sort of sign through human’s eyes throughout the novel whereas Roy Batty gets the hero symbol in a replicants eyes through the film. The motivation pertaining to Deckard in the novel is to buy a true animal, playing on his desire and needs, and this is a sign of empathy.

Having this objective shows the selfish part of people and questions whether or not someone truly needs a creature to be happy. The concept is set across that killing to get an animal (even if it is simply killing a great android) to become alright. Throughout the novel we watch Deckard’s development. Having only a glimpse of this development in the film regulation shown, the viewer will not likely really understand that Deckard experiences a change. Ridley Scott has used a different way that will put across the accord by using a diverse character that was simply a small part in the novel.

Batty has been given the objective to find a method to live longer and be able to become more human. Batty became the super human physique with more brains and durability. However Dick wrote that androids perished way prior to being able to comprehend emotions, making sure we were holding as robotic as possible.
