In the book, “A Different Mirror” by author Ronald Takaki is usually an interesting section by the subject of “The Promised Land” where I will discuss the good qualities and downsides that African Americans must face.

          � The years 1910-1920 we find out about migration of African Americans as they head toward complete freedom. Throughout the movement of the population, there is a distributing out of this race throughout the nation and a negative effect from this motion would be the large scattering from the African American competition.

Families had been separated more than they had ever been before numerous migrating towards the west shoreline.

          � An optimistic effect from this migration would be that the Africa Americans may gain better employment and had a larger range of chances due to the migrations.

          � As this group moved to other locations they did face violence simply by gangs and resistance from your white population. Communities commenced changing as the Dark-colored race transferred in, while the Caucasian contest weren’t at ease with this new migration.

          � The African American group began gaining more control as they started their own groups ran by way of a own contest. This was great for the Negro population as they were able to voice their own issues to the public and think as they had room to grow in world. The Negros had a fresh sense of who we were holding and a new sense of identity while white liberals and the fresh Negro movements began to grow in the Arts and Entertainment market.

          � The Depression confirmed a drop in Harlem’s population as the African American population ongoing to move as they looked for employment. There is much splendour for Negroes but for the positive part, there were many positive changes for the people as there were labor and union alterations concerning this kind of group. � There was more WPA support, along with the help from the Democratic Party.

          � Discrimination was always apparent which held a negative impact for the African Americans but with the support by men just like W. Electronic. B. Dubois, there was even more leadership in this group.

          � African Us citizens were learning everyday about who they were, where we were holding going and who they will wanted to always be. Although, the negative effects from the white colored race was always evident, the Black population forced ahead, relocated to better places where they could gain work and move up in society as they worked toward better living agreements and more acceptance from all Americans.

          � Working harder made most gains more appreciated, even though the African Us citizens worked toward gaining finish freedom and acceptance. More and more leaders was standing up and empowered the Negro inhabitants which provided them more confidence because they migrated around America, trying to find a better way of life.

          � African Americans were more worried about about their legal rights in the workplace and in schools because better possibilities presented themselves. This group grew more robust which was a good effect when still within the negative side, they always sensed less deserving than other groupings in America.
