Count dracula vs vlad the impaler

Dracula, Vampire

History is usually told through stories and this is a fact but at times, these tales are not double loyal to what really took place in history. This kind of relationship among “history” and “story” will likely be the base just for this work because I have chose to do my essay regarding one of the subject areas given which can be: “From background to story: Vlad the Impaler vs . Count Dracula”.

I chose this topic mainly because I love background I am very curious about historical character types such as Knight in shining armor Vlad Tepes, which a few critics ponder over it is one of the inspirations to the Dracula’s author, Bram Stoker. It is not necessarily sure in the event he genuinely based his character upon Vlad Tepes but I believe that there are several quotes in the book that could make an individual think that the character of Dracula can be comparable to Prince Vlad.

Vlad 3 Dracula the Prince of Wallachia, also called Vlad Tepes or Vlad the Impaler, was born in Transylvania (Romania). He was one of many sons in the nobleman Vlad II Dracul, the leader of the Wallachian region and member of the Order from the Dragon. This is why Vlad the Impaler is called Dracula: as it means the son of Dracul. +These arete initially similarities Over the internet between the famous character as well as the fictional a single. In the book, you are able to that Jonathan Harker travels to Transylvania to meet Count Dracula, the lord of this area.

“¦ made a search among the list of books and maps with the library concerning Transylvania, it had struck myself that a lot of foreknowledge from the country could hardly fail to incorporate some importance in dealing with a rspectable of that country”.

This is not an obvious reference to Vlad Tepes although I think that it must be not a chance that equally, Dracula and Vlad, will be from the same country and region. Nevertheless , there is still that percentage that could be Bram Stoker wanted to foundation his book in a nation far away by Ireland.

However , the main reason why I do think the author structured his book’s character (or at least took several inspiration to develop it) may be the title of the story itself and the character’s term: Dracula.

For what reason did Stoker want to name one of the primary characters because “Dracula”? As I said before, Vlad the Impaler’s father was known as “Vlad Dracul” which can be translated into English because “Vlad the dragon”. The Romanian word “draw” means “dragon” and frequently it also means “the devil” or “Satan” and “ul” is the article. What’s more, the suffix “ulema” (the Romanian name of Vlad Tepes is Vlad III Dracula) means “the son of”. It is important to talk about that the reason Vlad Tepes’ father was known as Vlad Dracul is the fact he was a part of the Buy of the Monster, an organization developed by the Emperor of the Holy Roman Germanic Empire, whose main goal was to defend the disposition against the Ottoman Turkish and defeat these people.
