Introduction to Poetry

Poetry Response

The poem Summary of Poetry by Billy Collins is something that I can identify with on a personal level. Instructors often ask me to analyze beautifully constructed wording (especially from this class), and i also don’t usually feel like Now i am doing it just how that they want me as well. I as well really loved this poem because of the brilliant imagery and personification during. It held the pace of the poem fast to make it really enjoyable to read.

In the composition, the author explains how he would look at a poem to look for its true meaning, and just how he would like “them” to consider the poem he has presented to “them”. His description of his actions is very delicate and jogs my memory how one should treat a little child. He describes staying physically delicate, but as well being open-minded and learning from the composition. Then this individual talks about just how “they” try to figure out the poem. In his description, this might sound like “they” are torturing the composition. I can recognize more with all the “they” through this poem compared to the author. I am not just a huge supporter of poems and I typically feel like there is a deeper and therefore I am missing. Even if someone talks about a more deeply meaning within a poem, I often still don’t really understand and think that it would be much easier is definitely we merely wrote what we should meant and left it at that. I think that the “they” in the composition was students of the author, which will would describe even more so so why I identify with them thus strongly. (Also I’m sorry Mister. Bingham, you probably feel the same way that the creator feels).

The symbolism and personification in this composition were the key literary devices, but they had been more than adequate. Even though,?nternet site stated over, I discover more with “them” and I think I deal with poems similar to “they” do, I nonetheless felt harmful to the poem that had been abused and may see how the author’s way of analyzing and reading the poem was nicer and would deliver a much more deeply and more meaningful understanding of the poem. I really liked how a author discussed the poem like it was obviously a person mainly because I achieved it much easier to have a pity party for and care about the poem. The imagery seriously helped with this kind of poem for the reason that ideas were good, however the execution was what really made the poem memorable and interesting to study. If presently there had been almost no imagery this poem would have been incredibly bland and boring to study.

Overall, I enjoyed this poem. I am not a huge fan of poetry and I often want to goes over my head so I recognized strongly while using “they” who abused the poem. By making use of personification, mcdougal was able to make the poem sympathetic. The images used performed a large portion in the composition being interesting and not boring, as well as to get pace and also bringing the ideas behind the poem to life. I really appreciated this composition and I immediately identified with it.
