The late nineteen forties and earl 1950s were a time of conformity. The

United States was emerging being a world electric power after World War II and right now there

were solid feelings of patriotism, nationalism, and overall consensus of

unity. There was little place for major ideology through the beginning of

the Frosty War. It was the time period that gave beginning to the Beatniks.

Sitting around in coffee houses reading their own poems or

playing/singing jazz, sometimes sitting in the dark with just a limelight

on you, wearing dark garments like Goths do today, of course , they will didnt

put on the makeup and the earrings, just the dark clothes. This is the image

I get once i think about what Beatniks are. My spouse and i dont know if it was because

of the time, being after the war and, that things were nonetheless a bit

Drugs helped them cope with life. I think it gave more oomph to

responsibilities, at least thats probably how you felt at the time.

The Beats didnt hate America, they just had no respect intended for laws and

moral codes that they couldnt agree with. The Beats accepted blacks and

embraced all their culture, especially jazz music. The Is better than also appreciated

and to some degree, advocated the usage of illegal medicines. In a time if a

family and effort were adored, the Surpasses idolized hillbillies and junkies.

When you chatted about national politics one could admit Beat national politics were more

like anti-politics. There isnt any real platform for beat national politics, it

was basically no matter what opinion was unpopular at the moment.

The Surpasses had an serious dislike pertaining to authority. I guess you could

declare authority was much of a fan of the Surpasses either, although. Just

The Beats had been followed and watched simply by everyone in the local police to

Its hard to say where we would be without the Beats. The influence

with the Beats is all around all of us. Beat articles have permanently changed

modern literature and poetry. Several musicians have been influenced by

Beats. Modern American slang would appear completely different whether it

werent for the Beatniks. Not to mention todays films, sexual morality

and our work ethics. I dont know in case the Beat Motion was great or
