Growing up we the importance of various things. Of most these things, we now have learned that getting accepted into society, creating friendships, and loving someone are very crucial to us. In Kurt Vonnegut’s short account, “Who Am i not This Time? “, we see through the experiences of Helene Shaw that by shutting ourself off from others around us we can ignore some of the most important things in life.

A lot of things are important to us, one of those is being accepted by each of our society. Many of us hate as the outsider and also the new youngster, because we feel only and secluded. In “Who Am I This Time? “, Helene Shaw’s task kept her moving to a new town every eight weeks. She started to be very cold to her surroundings to be able to ease the transition on your travels, thus reducing the perception of not belonging to the contemporary society around her.
