To the narrators dismay, the sole answer he can get from the Raven to explain his mysterious appearance in the darkness is the one word Nevermore. The Raven arrived to the holding chamber and situated upon a bust of Pallas simply above my own chamber door. What is important about this perched is that the bust represents the goddess of wisdom, in fact it is wisdom the fact that Raven is attempting to communicate with his a single word reply.
