Students/Educational Plans:

Boobie Miles was great football, yet haunted by injuries. He was not a incredibly good college student. All he wanted to carry out was go to major school for football and then go into the pros. He received a scholarship to Ranger Community college for sports, and flunked out after a year.

Brian Chavez was stereotyped as a stupid jock, but was the number one pupil in his course. He was a great football player. He proceeded to Harvard and expected to go on to law university.

Off white Christian wanted to be a preacher while in high school, and was the only pupil to be recruited by a Section I university. He traveled to Texas Christian University, although dropped out and attended Odessa School.

Jerrod McDougal planned to play sports more then simply anything. Traveled to Odessa College for a short time, then dropped out and worked in the fathers oil field.

Mike Winchell was a great student. He went to Baylor for a season and then decreased out. He went to Odessa College for a semester and after that transferred to The state of texas Tech to major in accounting.

Don Billingsley did not value anything in high school except for football and alcohol. This individual straightened up his action and went on to East Central College or university. He performed football intended for awhile generally there, and was majoring in mass marketing and sales communications.

Eddie Driscoll was a smart child and went to Oberlin School.

Jeff Crutchfield was in the top ten rank at Permian, and went on to Duke.

The location of Odessa was similar to my town in many ways. They are both blue scruff of the neck working class towns, which have been trying to support their kids to allow them to go on to have a good life. My city is a tiny town with financially stable families, but does not possess anyone with riches living inside the boarders in the town. My own town was very encouraging of our football team, and politicians might always show up there to achieve votes. My personal town is mainly a Conservative town much like Odessas. Like a football participant, we were in a position to get away with an increase of then the remaining school. I was given fails on tiny things such as portion some detentions and be past due for category. The school had an entrance test that every scholar must pass in order to get in, so there were no need to offer football players breaks academically because the entire school was educated. We always had a big masses at each of our games. Also people who did not have relatives that enjoyed there might show up to provide their support.

Family Attributes:

My dad was a whole lot like Mike Winchells father because he provides always motivated me to adhere to my dreams and to work hard to achieve my goals. All the kids in the football staff were challenged by their parents to do very well on the football field. We were holding very supporting and encouraged us to work hard to turn into a little bit better then all of them. My sisters had a difficult experience staying on the right course in high school graduation, just like the children at Odessa, but I used to be fortunate to hold a level brain and stay on track just like a few from Permian.

Conclusion:

I think these kinds of Similarities of Odessa and my community compare for many reasons. They are small towns filled with blue collar, working class people. They both have high goals for there children and want to see all of them succeed in lifestyle. The kids are similar because of the demand for football plus the dreams that come with playing the sport. The neighborhoods are filled with hard personnel and combined families, ranging for single parent homes to alcohol addiction parents, that are looking for to see the kids have amazing futures.
