Out-of-stater speed limits
Cause and Effect
Second Rewrite
Picture your self in my shoes or boots. Im traveling down the Montana intrastate system. Being young and stupid I’m going at the unreasonably fast acceleration of approximately 80mph.
I are on a highway that I travel around around five times a month. I realize the road very well, and I think safe for 80 with. I have no fears, even if I do view a cop. I actually wouldnt get pulled over since there is no velocity limit*.
I coolly glance during my rear view reflection to see a car quickly getting close to me. Then simply before I know it, the auto has passed myself like I am not even shifting. Naturally I look to understand why they are in that hurry, but I can’t tell because they are moving to fast. Not what I see just before they are out of perspective is the out-of-state license dish.
After they are gone My spouse and i shake my head and wonder if they learn about that blind corner they may be coming up after so quickly, the one that I always slow down for.
This kind of experience is now all too popular among Montanas considering that the repeal in the 65mph day speed limit.
The repeal with the Montana Express speed limit has had lethal effects upon out-of-staters that dont know the dimensions of the roads, never know what is safe, and don’t understand sensible and prudent.
Now of course I am generalizing, however it seems to me that any idiot using a gas your pedal should not be in order to drive down the highway for 100+ your. If anyone could possibly safely drive that fast, it would be the Montanan which has driven that road 3 x in the past week. But , it will appear to me that the extremely Montanan that we feel can drive that fast selects not to. Anybody, the
Montanan would know of where the deer are, if there is farm building equipment surrounding the next shape, or even to watch out for that pothole ahead. However it seems to me personally that it is the Montanan who also knows the conditions that is receiving passed. It truly is this Montanan that should be allowed to drive fast, if need be. Certainly not some speed crazed loony or perhaps the young college student that doesnt know what prudent is.
This kind of leads me to my personal question, think about an out-of-state speed limit? Montanans could still drive at rates that they think safe at, a reasonable speed. But out-of-staters would have to travel at a speed set by the express citizens.
I know I would feel less dangerous if the out-of-staters slowed down. Therefore me it wouldnt seem prudent never to.
* Beyond well-known belief there is certainly still a speed limit in Montana, it just isnt a number. Their what is affordable and sensible at the time.
