Lahore is known as a city of landscapes and green spaces in Pakistan and always possessed rich green character in its lengthy history. For the past few decades as a result of rapid estate, the city has lost the aesthetically crucial urban vegetation, trees, and greenery. The field studies and distant sensing data revealed that loosing vegetation has become experienced at an astonishing rate in many union councils of the city.

This research was conceptualized to probe importance and value of the urban trees and plants of Lahore in an environmental context as well as its general importance for the residents with the city. The objectives would have been to analyze the role of vegetation inside the life of citizens, the precise objective was going to reveal the attitudes and responses of city dwellers about the loss of metropolitan trees/vegetation and its role in the overall environment, the process of estate, and protection strategies. In our paper, the perception of local people (n = 2080) regarding the socio-environmental impacts as a result of ongoing technique of urbanization and detriments of vegetation reduction has been probed through the operations of a household questionnaire. The collected info has been analyzed with respondent’s age, gender, marital status, education, month to month income, and occupation.

This analyze was an attempt to doc and explore the enhancements made on historical alteration in plants and understanding of the test population of Lahore. The urban portion of the human population in Pakistan is the top among the Southern Asian Affiliation for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries.

At present, the urban human population of Lahore is more than 80 % and is in par with all the urbanization degree of the created countries, that is, 80 % of the total population. All-natural increase, non-urban to metropolitan migration, and foreign and local investment in various sectors are definitely the major impetus for the growth of metropolitan areas as well as urbanization in Lahore-Pakistan.
