The wizard of oz movie composition

I used to be only a youngster, when I first observed a special business presentation of The Sorcerer of Oz on T. V. the next day i went to the school selection and picked up L. Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard of Ounces Years later when i started to be a mom, I began reading The Wonderful Sorcerer of Ounce to just a few daughters Alexis and Neveah before bedtime. As i continuing to read I had been startled to get a new interesting depth in the book which will escaped me personally during the child years that I would not expect to find, At this point all adult i can finally grasp the underlinings and subplots scattered through the movie with Dorothy playing the function of the female heroine.

The Wizard of Oz is among the most important films of the twentieth century. “MGM’s movie was an instant struck: and, later, thanks to excellent time television set, more people have seen this than some other motion picture ever made. The Catalogue of Congress even included The Sorcerer of Oz with twenty four other motion pictures that it declared to be “national treasures Despite having popularity, the film had not been liked by everybody when it was first released many critics offered the film horrible opinions. Most people would not hesitate to call The Wizard of Oz a vintage.

The social importance of The Wizard, it is quality while literature is still somewhat in doubt. If we have a look at some of the most popular children’s films, we can quickly see that sexuality inequalities happen to be represented right now there because our first experiences with male or female roles come through the method of children’s movies and in addition they can have a strong impact on the way you conceptualize the earth around all of us. While the novel as well as the film have many of the same crucial female heroes, the film portrays an even more oppressive and sexist vision of women.

In the novel, Dorothy is described as a very secure, brave, practical six-year-old woman. When the lady meets the wizard for the first time and hears the Wizard’s thundering world “I are Oz the truly great and Bad!! your woman firmly responds, “I was Dorothy, the little and Meek but the girl with not really meek any more than the Wizard is actually terrible. Confronted with getting back home to Kansas, she pieces about it with determination. Then when the Wizard makes it an ailment of his helping her that she destroy the other witch, your woman sets out quickly to do it, though she does not want to destroy anyone or nearly anything

Dorothy is usually very independent. She complies with adults such as the Good Witch of the North and the Munchkins who are not able to help her, but the lady continues onto her journey. Dorothy serves as a great Everyman for children to follow: The girl with sensible, friendly, helpful, courageous without being foolish, deeply mounted on her family and friends, and resolute in pursuing her goals. She would not change drastically in the course of the journey, in this is not the span of someone who poorly needs to modify. The sorcerer of ounces is a account of do it yourself discovery, by which Dorothy relates to realize her own potential by the journey’s end.

The characters the lady meets in the process, the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, plus the Cowardly Big cat are not only her friends although all lack something that signify the features that Dorothy must to find within their self to complete her quest, courage Cleverness, and empathy! Dorothy is definitely the true heroine. She is one who holds the band of travelers together. The girl with a very solid female character but could also have moments of some weakness. she is encouraged by her generosity to help everyone just before her small heart yowls out for what she desires most of all

HOME. Judy Garland’s characterization of Dorothy In the film is spectacular. At a single point in film production company Dorothy is definitely held a helpless hostage by the Wicked Witch from the West. The girl can bum for herself until her friends, the Scarecrow, Big cat, and Container Woodman come to save her. When Dorothy finally beats the witch, it is because your woman accidentally douses her with water while trying to sprinkle the Scarecrow who is on fire. While Dorothy did not know this would kill the witch, her activities show her as being a brave heroine.

Most of the film is about the struggle over Dorothy’s ruby slippers, that the evil sorceress is aware the worthwhile Dorothy would not. The words, “There’s no place just like home, is a term we all know and love. The key reason why that Glinda didn’t support Dorothy to begin with is because Dorothy didn’t yet understand that her place with the home. The film directs the obvious message that true happiness is found in relatives. This realness of Dorothy’s experience in a different universe is what makes The Wonderful Sorcerer of Oz a great illusion.
