Recovery in Precious The theme of “healing” is ever present in the book, Beloved by Toni Morrison. Many forms of “healing” come about, with many different characters having the “healing” process. These directives of “healing” range from curing personal issues from within, to healing as being a community, and by overcoming person prejudices. I feel that the conquering of individual prejudices is one of the most important facets of this book. Throughout the account, Sethe (the main character) has many runs into with a various people.

The meeting of Sethe and Amy Hawaii is the focal point of Sethes “healing. ” This happens when Sethe (being pregnant) is a servant on the run and goes into labor. She meets Amy Denver, an indentured servant who will be leaving to Boston.
