Pathos ethos and logos in beowulfs appeal article

In Beowulfs appeal to Unferth, Beowulf uses Passione when talking about his swimming match against Brecca. Beowulf makes the audience feel sympathetic for him when he uses vivid explanations and has a emotional tone when he explains to them of how he had to fight off sea-monsters and extremely tough conditions. He also admits that he made a mistake in the challenge with Brecca. This kind of also adds to the empathy the fact that audience had been feeling for him.

Admitting that he made a blunder makes Beowulfs argument appear more reliable and it makes him sound a lot more reasonable. His argument employing pathos was very effective because he uses a horrible appeal to control and gain the support of the people. Beowulfs likewise uses Diathesis to help his appeal against Unferth. To start his argument, Beowulf right away discredits Unferths attack about him by simply accusing him of being a drunk. Can make Unferth seem unethical to result in his facts against Beowulf to seem poor and unconvincing.

Beowulf also uses Diathesis later on when he again works on the form of a great ad homonym attack when he rebukes Unferth for murdering his brothers. His use of logos was in the same way effective since his arguments using cast and passione.

His use of logos was clearly successful because he revealed that having been worthy of staying the one in an attempt to attempt to eliminate Grendel. In Beowulfs appeal, he uses a form of darker humor and dark irony when he says that this individual treated these people politely, providing the edge of his razor-sharp sword.
