Seeking Pleasure and Agression Is Part of Human Instinct
Name: Mohamed Fakhry A. Wahab
Based upon Freud ideas of pleasure and aggression, discuses Hay Ibn
Yaqzan plus the Island of Animals
It is known to be that seeking enjoyment and aggression are a a part of our
human Instinct. We look for pleasure to shorten the time of our unhappiness. We
reside in a constant struggle to be usually happy, and that we use each of the ways that
have us to happiness. Aggression, on the otherhand, is a part of our human being
nature, that can be hidden deep down in our subconcousnes and explodes in
certain conditions, or it can be on the area of our habit and inconstant
use. Causes of happiness varies from one person to another, nevertheless the one
way to obtain our human gratification that we all concur upon, is definitely the happiness
produced from sexual pleasure. Each of our souls strive for sexual pleasure to become
elevated in one degree of man happiness to a new. Freud declared what
we call delight in the most stringent sense originates from the fulfillment of
requirements which have been dammed up to a high degree, and it is from its mother nature only
feasible as an episodic phenomenon. (25). On the sametime, we all explore those
human norms of behavior in the occurrence of world which set some rules and
control that are surpassingly acting as guidelines pertaining to the your survival of
humanity. Hay Ibn Yaqzan plus the Island of animals, are two different human
experiences that discover our two core man instincts, delight and out and out aggression.
In Hay, we will see that his journey together with his own intuition is different from
our own human being instincts, however it is the same when it comes to the roll of
civilization with dealing with these people. On the otherhand, The Island of Animals
tends to dig within our human aggression, and shows how humanity uses world
as a drape to hide to it.
Freud concept of pleasure and happiness is related to Hay in just one
way. It is not in the kind of delight itself, if if is usually sexual or perhaps
spiritual, but it is similar in the procedure as well as the definitions of happiness
or perhaps pleasure. In other words, pleasure to Freud is simply in lovemaking terms
Sexual satisfaction is the original of all forms of individual pleasure.
On the otherhand, Hay Ibn Yaqzans happiness or his pleasure is found in totally
several kind of instinct, which is the substitute gratification for
sexual satisfaction, because religious beliefs and scientific research are contained in Freuds lists for
mental replacements intended for the shed sexual happiness. So Hay, according to
Freud, can be someone who favored the substitutes of intimate happiness. But , did not
experience sexual pleasure to begin with. Therefor, all of us cannot say that Hay
is definitely someone who escaped the sexual pleasure to the perceptive replacements
because of civilization. The concepts of Freud equation does not go well with Hays
circumstance. At the sametime, we can make the link among Hay and Freuds concept
from the world point of view. Relating to Freud, our intimate instincts
happen to be operates simply by civilization, and it does not provide the requirements of
civilization. In Hayys case civilization oppressed his psychic happiness
where he found this on the island. Through this sense world stood against his
instinct, as civilization is position against our human wants
represented inside the sexual contact form. Opposite, Hay escaped via civilization in
search for his basic human being desires. This escape was confirmed by simply his
reinhabiting the Island with Absal. Hayy found that civilization grab his
wishes from him, truly from his fellow guy. Hayy realized that what misery
moreburdeing than recounting all you do from the time you wake up to the period you
go to sleep without locating a singal action that would not amount to in search of one of
these vile, physical aims: satisfaction seekingventing rage(71) As we can easily
see pleasure for Salaman and his good friends is totally unlike Hays
satisfaction. The difference among Freuds concept and Hay, is that in fact we
usually do not fight or perhaps escape to get to our basic human instinct, but instead we
create substitute gratifications. According to Freud Civilization compensates
the person by manipulating his libidinal energies in socially suitable
forms of enjoyment and curve. But as we come across those suitable forms happen to be
substitutes intended for the real thing, instinctual happiness. But , they are not a
substitute for Hayy, they are his core method to obtain happiness. Thus he did not stay
with Salaman and create intended for himself replace kind of enjoyment, instead
